The chapel program of Fredericksburg Christian Schools is designed to provide a time for worship, biblical instruction, fellowship, and outreach. An elementary, middle, and high school chapel is held once a week for an hour. Each chapel is planned with age-appropriate content and activities. Worship is an integral part of a believer’s life. Chapel provides an opportunity to corporately glorify God. Students are able to participate in worship by singing, praying, and reading God’s Word. Biblical instruction is imperative for a believer to grow in his/her faith. As our students listen and interact with chapel speakers our desire is to see God’s Word change the hearts and minds of those in attendance. Our hope is that FCS is: “Educating Christian Leaders...for Life.”
Being involved in Bible study helps to accomplish this mission. Fellowship among students, faculty, and parents provides unity and encouragement among the school family. In Hebrews 10:25 it says, “Not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another.” (NASB) This fellowship allows us to focus on a specific theme each year. Our chapels allow our students to participate in outreach. Whether going to a foreign mission field, partnering with other Christian ministries or serving the local community of Fredericksburg and surrounding counties, the students are able to live out their faith through service.
