Academics

Welcome to the FCS Upper School!

The approximately 400 students in 6th through 12th grades are offered a diverse and challenging college-preparatory academic program that prepares them to continue their educations which 95% of our graduating students do.

One of our primary missions is to raise up young Christian men and women as leaders using Biblical principles in every area of our school; and our staff and faculty are committed to encouraging students' spiritual growth and academic achievement. We offer a full complement of sports programs including football, soccer, field hockey, basketball and swimming as well as activities such as art, drama, band, worship teams, orchestra, and missions teams. Also available to our students are our Leadership Institute program, student government, and several service clubs. Each week we have middle school and high school chapels when students and staff stop and focus on the Lord. Student-led music starts our chapels which feature a guest speaker.

We are confident that our students leave FCS not only with a sound education but also a solid understanding of our Lord Jesus Christ.

If you are interested in learning more about us or scheduling a campus tour, please contact us directly at (540) 373-5355 or mstanley@fcschools.org. We are located at 9400 Thornton Rolling Road, Spotsylvania, VA  22408.

Make Sure You're Signed Up With Honeywell!
10/26/2012

FCS will use the Honeywell Instant Alert System to notify families in the event of an unscheduled early dismissal, delay, or closing. Occasionally, the system will also be used to relay other important school announcements. Since Honeywell is the primary means used to convey important school information, it is vital for all school families to register with the system and keep their profiles up-to-date.

You may access the Honeywell site here. There is also a link on your login page on the FCS website.

All new families must register on the Honeywell site. To register, click “Parent” under the “New User? Sign Up Now!” heading. Select Virginia/Fredericksburg Christian and enter your child’s name and date of birth. Finally, enter your name and set up your user-name and password. You will then be able enter your contact information. You may also manage the types of alerts you wish to receive.

All returning families are asked to review their profiles at least once a year to ensure their information is up-to-date. This is especially important if you have moved, changed jobs, changed email addresses, or obtained a new cell phone since you last checked your account. Parents are responsible for maintaining their Honeywell account, so please be sure to update your profile if your contact information changes. Returning families will use their ID and password from last year.

When there is uncertainty as to whether it will be necessary to dismiss early due to weather, please be aware that campus offices are not notified in advance of the Honeywell alert. The best way for you to ensure you receive the very latest information is to maintain your Honeywell profile. Thank you for your assistance with this vital communication tool.

Bus Drivers Needed
9/14/2012

Fredericksburg Christian Schools has an immediate need for bus drivers for afternoon and evening sports trips. Drivers with a CDL license available to drive one trip a week or every other week would be very helpful. We are willing to train but it takes up to 30 days to complete the process. This is a paid position. For questions – please contact Mr. Scott Fuller at 540-735-1295 or Marie Stanley at 540-735-1286. Applications are available on our website at www.fredericksburgchristian.com.

We believe that the key to a strong Christian school is its staff. We are grateful for those who are professionally qualified, who love young people and who, by the pattern of their lives, are Christian role models. Although Fredericksburg Christian Schools is non-denominational, it teaches basic Bible doctrines from a Protestant perspective. Therefore, we are interested in candidates who are active in an evangelical, Protestant church.
