Whew, what a whirlwind of a year! It doesn't seem that long ago that we were busily preparing for a new school year, and suddenly the hallways are empty and quiet again. I am so thankful for each and every one of our students, school families, and staff members, and I hope you all have blessed summer. I know many of you have taken up the 52 Day Challenge I issued at the closing Chapel for our K-8th grades. Thank you for joining me in praying a stone wall of protection around our families and our school. Many of us committed to starting on June 1, and I love the idea of so many of us standing together before the throne of our Heavenly Father. I can't wait to see how the Lord will use our prayers. I am looking forward to seeing all of you again soon and hearing about your summer adventures. Be sure to watch your email (and check the blog) for information about some fun summer and back-to-school events that are in the works for our campus too.

The Arianna and Alissa Nelson Scholarship provides need-based scholarships to encourage current FCS families to enroll younger siblings in our preschool program in order to provide an early foundation in quality Christian education. The scholarship fund was established by a private donor with the expressed wish "to honor and support the accomplishments in Christian education achieved by Fredericksburg Christian Schools." Three separate scholarships in the amount of $1,000.00 each will be awarded to three students each school year for a total annual scholarship amount of $3,000.00. Did you know that school families have access to an online student directory through our website? The directory is not available to the public, so you must log in to the website to search for students. After logging in, click the "Student Directory" tab located on the left sidebar. You may search by student name, homeroom teacher, or grade (please note: all grades at the Stafford campus are preceded with an "S"). After entering your search criteria, click the "Search" button. Once you receive your search results, click the student's name to see contact information for that student. Please be aware that some families have indicated that they would like their information kept private (either all contact info or just their phone number). In those cases, contact information will not be displayed.

Did you know you can help FCS just by shopping in stores you already patronize? Here are some easy things you can do to benefit FCS while shopping for items you already plan to buy. We hope you will take advantage of these special programs, and encourage your family and friends to participate as well. Amazon: FCS will receive up to 6% of the purchase price if you shop with Amazon through this link. Businesses can use the link as well. Target: The Take Charge of Education program is available to Target Red Card (credit or debit) holders. Red Card members save 5% on all purchases, and when you designate FCS with the code 23827, Target will donate 1% of your purchases. You only have to register once. Giant/Martin Foods: With the A+ Rewards program, Giant Bonus Card holders earn points everytime they shop. Register your Giant Card with the code 06618 here. Please be aware that you must re-register each year. Martin Foods shoppers can also designated FCS by going to the Martin website and looking for FCS in a list of participating schools. Food Lion: The MVP Rewards Program offers Classroom Rewards. MVP Cards are available at any Food Lion store. Once you are enrolled in the program, be sure your card is registered with the code 218768. Visit the Food Lion website, and click on the MVP Rewards link to register. Good Search: Powered by Yahoo, Good Search is an internet search engine that allows users to designate FCS to receive a penny per search. It costs nothing, but FCS benefits from each search. Visit the Good Search website to designate FCS as the beneficiary of your searches. We also appreciate those Box Tops and Campbells Labels that keep coming in. Thank you so much for your support! If you have any questions, please contact the Development Office at 540-373-5355.
