Faculty and Administrative
Twenty-five years ago, my oldest of three children was ready to begin her education. My husband and I wanted a Christian-based education for our two daughters and son. After much prayer, and seeking our extended family’s guidance, Fredericksburg Christian was the school we decided on. As for me, I was a former teacher with experience teaching in public and private schools and enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom. The Lord had other ideas.
In 1990, Andrea Foss and Carole Bolt asked me to tutor and then to be a long-term substitute in the FCS elementary school. Again with prayer, my husband’s approval, and my desire to return to the classroom, I agreed. By 1992, I had my own kindergarten class, and I loved it.
Our God has our lives woven into His will. He is stronger and greater than any circumstances that we may encounter in this life’s journey. My children and I were temporarily thrown into the darkness in 1996, when my husband of 26 years was diagnosed with cancer and went to his heavenly home. Our God was there, and He used FCS and the FCS family to minister to us in many ways. The Lord was a constant companion for me and “Dad” to my children. He allowed us to immerse ourselves in the FCS environment of education with excellence and love for His kingdom truths.
My life was again changed in 2004, when I married a wonderful Christian man who was volunteering his free time as the varsity soccer coach for FCS. My new husband, loved by so many, went home to be with the Lord in 2007. FCS never faltered in allowing me room to grieve a second time and also to stay and minister to the children in my second-grade classroom.
My three children graduated from FCS with honors, and all three married FCS honor graduates. Their lives and mine have been entwined with FCS for a quarter of a century. Teaching at FCS is an honor and a privilege. It’s a ministry which God has allowed me to taste and see His kingdom at work. What about the next quarter of a century? My prayer is that my grandchildren will be able to attend FCS and taste the same fruits of the Spirit of God that have sustained me these last twenty-five years.

The ministry of FCS continues as it did twenty-three years ago when I first began at FCS teaching second grade. Back then FCS had only elementary and middle school students; the following year the high school began. Throughout the years, FCS has continued to grow with many individuals and churches that have assisted Gary and Andy Foss along the way. Our founders were able to follow the Lord's leading, and they brought key people into the ministry and allowed them to use their God-given talents in various ways.
This year we celebrate the 20th-year anniversary of the first graduating class. Over the years we have grown to having over 1,100 graduates serving the Lord all across the world. The ministry of FCS continues every day as each of our students who are educated here go out from FCS to minister for Him! Educating Christian leaders for life has been our motto and goal; and it is happening in so many ways.
God has continued to use His ministry, FCS, for His Glory and it is because of Christian parents who desire to partner with FCS that it continues today. As the Lord continues to lead and guide, we are so thankful for His blessing on the ministry and are hopeful and wait expectantly for what He has in store for HIS school that does it all for HIS GLORY!
