Preschool:

My family has been blessed to be a part of the FCS family for two years. During that time we have watched our daughter blossom into a wonderful young lady who has a heart for God. As Christians it has always been of the utmost importance to us that our daughter is raised in a godly environment where prayer, scripture and a relationship with God are encouraged along with academics. FCS has been the perfect environment for our daughter.

Before we enrolled our daughter in the 3-year-old program, my daughter was a stay-at-home child. We were very concerned about her transition to a school environment. The staff at the preschool was very nurturing, and the transition was smooth. Often I would pick her up and observe the staff giving hugs and playing with the children. Our daughter was, and still is, excited about school and would often tell us how much she loved her teacher. As parents leaving our daughter in someone else’s care for the first time, it was a great relief to know our daughter was in great hands.

The loving nature of FCS extends to the parents and family of their student. Our family has experienced some loss over the past few years. Each time our extended FCS family was there with prayer and encouraging words. As a school family we have prayed for each other and our families as situations have arisen, and we have rejoiced together as families have overcome.

There is a special relationship that develops between the staff, students and families of FCS. The basis of that relationship is God. Whenever God is in the center, all things work together. We are blessed to have our daughter educated in a Christian environment and be a part of the FCS family.

The Impact of Christian Education on Little Ones

A Grandparent's View: A testimony by Mrs. R.

My husband and I are fortunate to be able to send our two grandchildren to Christian schools. We thought this season of our lives was over, but God knew the plans He had for us! What a blessing to be in partnership with Fredericksburg Christian Schools which provides not only excellent academic training, but also training in righteousness.

I am amazed how they are already understanding biblical truths, like when our oldest told me he wanted to honor me like his teacher had talked about at school that day. My eyes filled, and my heart was blessed! We talked about what honoring someone meant, and I was in awe that even our youngest, who is in the three-year-old class, pointed out that he could honor me by obeying!

While our youngest is one of the most loveable little boys around, he can also be quite stubborn! Both of our boys have had times when they've had to visit the director's office. I would love to take her office home with me because so much is accomplished after a visit! The lessons learned are built on the unconditional love of our Savior and thus can soften the most stubborn of hearts.

While it was important for our children to attend Christian schools, it is even more important for our grandchildren. The world has changed dramatically since we were parents. It is our desire that they are citizens of godly character and high standards, and that they would be able to stand firm against the attacks of Satan that will come in their lifetime.

We heard about FCS from a friend while we were making plans to move here from California. Because of some health problems, it was a very stressful season of our lives. We have always placed great value on Christian education. As I ended a conversation with a representative of the preschool program, I knew that FCS was the place for our children.

We expected that FCS would provide a solid academic program for our children and were certain the teachers would be born-again believers. What we did not expect was how they would embrace our entire family. They reached out to us in a very personal way. As our children have completed their first year at FCS, we have seen God's handprints on their lives by the way the teachers have loved them, prayed for them, encouraged them and loved our family simply because we are one of His. Their learning has far exceeded our expectations. We love FCS!!

Fredericksburg Christian Schools not only raises the bar on academic standards but has proven instrumental in the spiritual life of our child. Our daughter has not only received an excellent education thus far, but was led to receive Christ as her Savior by her Pre-K teacher who recognizes the calling God has placed on her life in the ministry of her students. We thank God for the opportunity to have our daughter enrolled in a school that is providing a superb combination of academic excellence and an environment that nurtures her spiritual growth. We thank God for not only what FCS has done for our daughter but what it has meant to our entire family.

Elementary & Middle School:

It is hard to describe in words what my testimony is to the love, caring and kindness Fredericksburg Christian Schools has shown and been to my family and me. I am an eight-year veteran with FCS and have had children at every campus available except the high school (will have my first there in a year and a half). In my experience of having five children attending (K, 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 7th), if my count is right, I have had 21 dedicated one-on-one grade teachers (this doesn't include multiple middle school teachers). Of these 21 plus teachers, I have never experienced anything other than what I would consider a born-again Christian believer teaching, caring, loving and supporting our children. My experience with FCS is a witness that our teachers are not working for money but truly for the Glory of our Lord Jesus Christ; academically, but also as a witness of His grace, mercy and love. I also have a great sense of peace in knowing our children are being taught a biblical worldview (the Truth) and have the freedom to pray in Jesus' name and have "trusting Jesus" encouraged as a way of life at school. I believe it is a dad's and family's responsibility to raise and teach children in the ways of our Lord, but it is comforting to know that our children have FCS as a partner (almost as a third parent) in this process. My sincere and heartfelt "thank you" for all you do to the staff of Fredericksburg Christian Schools.

In Christ,
Mr. R., an elementary and middle school family

As a mother of three little girls in a crazy world, it brings my husband and me great peace to know our children don't attend a "private" school but are a part of a CHRISTIAN school. Many people worry about the future and college funds; although important, we don't have control over the first and no guarantee of the second. Only the Lord knows the number of days. We have chosen to make early education - Christian education - a priority in the life of our family. It is our hope that our children will be poured into during their most formative years (Pre-K through 12th grade) so when they become young adults, the Word will be so rooted in them they will have the discernment and wisdom that can only come from God. Thank you to all the teachers, staff and administration who give of themselves every day for our children and meet their needs academically, spiritually and with a servant's heart. Thank you for the commitment and obedience to what God has so obviously called you to do. you are unspoken heroes in this life but will be sporting the most jewels in heaven, I'm sure!

I am a mom of three wonderful FCS boys (3rd, 5th and 7th). I felt led to share my personal testimony about why FCS is so important to our family. I can tell you that I have been on both ends of FCS - as a parent and as a staff member. What I have always loved about FCS is its commitment to follow God's will and its love for my children. They are being prayed for daily! It is very comforting to know that my children are in an environment where staff, parents and teachers are all believers of Christ. After being a part of the staff, it has truly confirmed what I've always felt: the teachers give 200% to their jobs, and they are passionate about incorporating biblical truths into each subject. It's always exciting to see my children trusting in the Word of God and performing acts of generosity and compassion as well as sharing the Gospel. I know their time at FCS has been so much more than just academics. FCS has been a tremendous blessing to our family.

Educational Heritage

God has called us to teach the next generation... to better prepare them to face the world... FCS gave our children affirmative consistency in God's way... We are strongly committed to supporting this ministry. We are glad our grandchildren now attend FCS.

High School:

We have three children at Fredericksburg Christian Schools. We have made a commitment to Christian education because we desire Godly people daily in the lives of our children as they discover what God has planned for them. Transition from middle school to high school was especially critical because of the moral and emotional changes that occur. Our two high school students love FCS and have told us several times they love FCS and would not choose to go anywhere else. Our family have been blessed by FCS.

I picture my walk with the Lord like that of a seed. I have accepted the Lord into my heart and planted the seed knowing that it can only grow stronger. My seed is nurtured by the spiritual soil, water and sunlight that I continually absorb so that my faith can grow. At FCS I feel that the seed  has grown to new heights and become an everlasting tree, firmly rooted on Christlike morals, biblical perspectives and a testimony that can stand strong against anything that may come in the way of it.

Fredericksburg Christian became more than a school when my life became more than difficult. I was surprised to learn that when I was falling, someone was watching; that was the first I learned how FCS was a family instead of a school. The support I found in the faculty and the lessons that would predict how I faced the trials in my life were life-changing. Going from kindergarten to senior year has been a LONG journey at times, but one I couldn't imagine anywhere else. I know that God placed me here for a reason and wants me to grow as much I can while I am here because, just like in Matthew 13, I believe this to be a place where the soil is rich and the plant is nurtured. I wish I would have seen the potential to grow so much at a younger stage in my life; yet where God has done a 180, I think, is the miraculous part. I know God was always with me, and I knew Him intellectually through the years. But the thing that FCS built on my heart was that when I applied that knowledge to my heart it made a world of difference. I can go through the trials in my life not only with the support of the people at FCS but also with the confidence in my God because He is mighty to save.

Alumni:

Our children have been in difficult circumstances where the strong foundation that they received at FCS, church and home enabled them to stand firm and seek God's direction instead of the world's. This bedrock foundation was interwoven in all their classes at FCS... bringing them back to Christ in all they did.

During my time at FCS high school I gleaned more than just a well-rounded education; I gained a network of long-lasting Christian friends that remained my support system during the transition from teenager to adulthood. Recently, I accepted a position on Capitol Hill interning for Congresswoman Fox. I'm so thankful that I have a firm Christian worldview as my compass.

FCS reinforced Christian values that I was learning at home. This combination of godly wisdom has given me a firm foundation that is guiding me through a secular university and will stay with me for the rest of my life.

My education at FCS, in and out of the classroom, became my foundation for my Christian walk and worldview. FCS prepared me not only academically, but both spiritually and relationally for life. FCS also was family for me while growing up. The caring and concern my teachers had for me both in and out of the classroom shaped who I am in so many ways.

I think we all made friendships at FCS that will last a lifetime, and I also know that I got an excellent education. But what stands out in my mind the most about FCS, what truly made it unique for me, are the teachers and staff. I can't imagine that I will ever again find such a group of selfless and dedicated people in one place.

Being a student in FCS from Pre-K through 12th grade has certainly impacted my life in several different ways. However, the first thing that always comes to mind of the impact this school has had on me is the need for missions. Certainly, as a little kid we were taught about sharing Christ, and we got to hear from the high school students that were actually going on mission trips around the world. Those were seeds instilled in me. When I got to high school I finally had the opportunity to go on these mission trips and see first hand the work of the Gospel around the world and that I could be a part of it. It was through these mission trips that God opened my heart to share the gospel WHEREVER he may lead me!
