Each month our Bible lessons focus on a particular theme or Bible character. The next two weeks the children will be introduced to the " Wordless Book." The book takes us through the plan of salvation using colors. We will hear daily Bible stories about Creation, Adam and Eve, Abraham and Joseph.
Each week the children will be taught a new Bible verse.
The verses for the month are:
Sept 7- "In the beginning God created the heaaven and the earth." Genesis 1:1
Sept. 13- "Through Him all things were made." John 1:3
Sept. 20- "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made." Psalm 139:14
Sept. 27-" As for God, His way is perfect" Psalm 18:30
Chapel:
Chapel will be twice a month at 8:45-9:15
The first chapel will be September 17- Mrs. Brown's class will be sharing in song.
Phonics:
The children are taught a letter each week beginning with the vowels and then the consonants. They will learn the sound of each letter and the proper printing formation.

Cooking Experience :
As a way of culminating many academic areas, we have begun a cooking experience by making "alphabet recipes". When a new letter is introduced the children will be exposed to simple recipes that coincide with the letter sound. The preparations are done in the classroom and enjoyed at snack time. The children are exploring many new skills such as measuring, pouring, and mixing. The children are thoroughly enjoyed this fun activity. Thank you to all the families who have graciously brought in the ingredients.
Science:
During the month, several science experiments will be explored.
Show and Tell:
Your child may choose to bring in an item to share with the class. Please limit one item per week. No weapons or super heroes permitted. You can encourage your child to find a Show and Tell item that coincides with the letter or theme we are learning. A schedule will be provided to let you know which day your child can bring Show and Tell in to school. If your child misses their scheduled day, they can bring in their item when they return.

All lesson materials and specific topics to be covered will be sent out at the beginning of each month on a monthly calendar. There will be a copy posted on the preschool bulletin board in the hallway across from our class door. Please refer to the calendar for upcoming events and school schedule information.
Thank you!
