In our computer classes the students learn the values of typing, word processing, letter formats, report formats, spreadsheets, and designing web pages using HTML.
The sixth graders are using the typing program, Southwestern Keyboarding. They are perfecting their keyboarding techniques, and working to improve their speed and accuracy while typing different documents.
The seventh graders are developing skills in word processing, letters formatting, and report setup. They learn to evaluate web pages using different standardized critieria, and create multimedia presentations using information from the Internet and HyperStudio.
The eighth graders ('who are the best') are researching career paths and colleges on the internet and writing research reports for many subjects. They are also introduced to spreadsheets and graphs using the information from the spreadsheets. With additional typing, 8th graders have an opportunity to test out of high school keyboarding.
