Student Leadership

studentleadership1.jpgAt FCMS the students have numerous leadership opportunities to develop the gifts God has given. Each year an ACSI leadership conference is held for students showing leadership potential. The leadership conference allows students to discover the qualities of a godly leader and to determine ways they can impact their school for the Lord. Time is given to identify problems within the student body and come up with student led solutions. Some topics discussed are leadership, cliques, and activities that would enhance student life.

Student Government

Student government is a group of student-elected representatives who arrange activities for the middle school student body. The student government allows their peers to have a voice in their school. Some of the activities they have led are the Rake-A-Thon, the Christmas party, where money was raised to support three mission students, and ice cream sales.

In getting together to rake others' yards, we meet new people and make new friends. The Rake-a-thon is a great way to give to one another and learn how to serve each other.

Another exciting annual event is the Christmas party. At FCMS the students have a tradition of collecting enough money to support three students in foreign countries for the year. The three students live in Equador, Nigeria, and India. The middle schoolers bring in earned money to help pay for the education of these needy students.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes

F.C.A., stands for "Fellowship of Christian Athletes". Starting with an all new leadership team, FCA has provided an arena where students play, pray, and enjoy an hour of fellowship together. The Fellowship of Christian Athletes conducts Thursday morning meetings that include a welcome time, athletic games, a devotional speaker, and often a video on a Christian athlete.
