Learning to play an instrument takes many hours of practice, hard work and dedication. Participating in band and strings is not only exciting, but challenging and fun. One student remarked," It is inspiring and encouraging when people see how hard you've worked. Our teachers always encourage us to practice." Our band, strings and choir perform a special Christmas concert. This year the performance was titled "The Birthday of a King." One event that band, strings, and choir look forward to is the year end trip to Busch Gardens. It is a time to have fun and to demonstrate their devotion to music.
The students in choir are building their gifts for His glory. Leaders of worship, the middle school chorus practices to improve their voices while "singing with thankfulness in their hearts to God" Colossians 3:16. "Choir has been full of challenges and blessings," commented one choir member. Most of the members agree that chorus is fun, cool, and a growing experience. Learning to sing in harmony and make musical selections touch the heart is a goal of each choir member.
