History at FCMS is always interesting.

/files/Middle School/academic pics/historyegyptday.jpgThe 6th grade history class goes back in time and studies the Middle East and other ancient cultures. Students study Egypt, and have an Egyptian Day where they dress as Egyptians and have special learning stations where students create lessons about different aspects of Egyptian life. They also learn about the Middle East and Biblical history.

7th grade has been talking about Central America, South America, and Canada. They will also study Colonial America in the spring and travel to colonial Williamsburg and Jamestown for two days to experience life in that time period.

/files/Middle School/academic pics/history.jpgThe 8th grade history class finds many different ways to study the history of our world. The students are learning about the Constitution, the government , as well as the history of the United States of America. They do many projects such as group projects on American Indians, going to battle at Gettysburg with a Lt. Colonel in the lead, and learning about our government through politics. A day in history class might involve learning from diagrams on the board, playing review games to review for tests, watching movies about subjects discussed in class, or working on individual or group projects. Each one of the history classes is 40 min. long. The 8th graders really search for the knowledge of HIS-Story.
