The 7th grade sharpens the concept of composition by drawing still life settings, while practicing the 4 basic forms and the basic human figure. They are also learning to draw draperies and articles of clothing. More detail is added to the 6th grade curriculum at this level.

The 8th grade studies the many forms of art and the different tools of the artist. They learn methods such as graded washes, wet-N-wet, pencil, and pen and ink. The 8th graders delve further into their study of the human form with more time taken on drawing models and the body in motion. They also do extensive studies of form with pastels.

All grades have art history research homework and look forward to painting the classroom wall with scenes from the rainforest in the spring.
